China's VELLINK digital metro train made its global debut at InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin, Germany, held from Sept 22 to 25. Developed by CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co based on China's standard metro technology platform, the train integrates embodied intelligence with green and digital technologies.

VELLINK features a cloud-edge-end collaborative architecture, AI-driven operation, and full-life-cycle carbon management, offering a new approach to smart, green, and people-centered urban rail transit.

The train uses multidimensional sensors, AI algorithms, and high-speed communications to enable intelligent perception, decision-making, and interaction.

The train also adopts an integrated architecture that reduces the control host by 50 percent and optimizes onboard wiring by 30 percent. Lightweight materials and energy-efficient systems help cut vehicle weight by about 18 percent, while overall energy savings exceed 10 percent and full-life-cycle carbon emissions are reduced by about 15 percent.

Designed around passenger comfort, VELLINK features panoramic windows, a dynamic starry-sky ceiling, flexible seating, and improved noise reduction.
