Jilin unveiled Future Coach, an AI-powered intelligent training system for winter sports, at a Jilin-Zhejiang winter sports industrial cooperation event in Hangzhou on Aug 28.

Developed by the Jilin Key Laboratory of Winter Sports, the system integrates AI, multimodal big data, and sports science. It is based on the lab's champion model, which uses athletes' individual data to develop targeted training plans covering training, competition, and rehabilitation.

The system is supported by a winter sports big data center covering eight sports and 16 disciplines. Built over more than a decade, the center has accumulated more than 200 million data records involving over 2,000 athletes and more than 3,000 competition videos.

Future Coach integrates video, sensor, physiological, kinematic, and biomechanical data to provide intelligent analysis and diagnosis. It can identify at least five types of winter sports movements, with movement recognition accuracy reaching 90 percent or higher. Its technical diagnosis and injury-risk warning accuracy both exceed 85 percent.

Its launch marks another step in Jilin's efforts to apply AI and big data to winter sports. It also comes as Changchun prepares to host the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade, creating new application and commercialization opportunities for winter sports technology.
