A news conference on building the Hainan Free Trade Port with high standards was held in Changchun on Aug 29, highlighting the port's policy advantages and new opportunities for cooperation with Jilin province.
Officials said the port has achieved stable and orderly overall operations, with improvements in logistics, travel, and the flow of people and business. Hainan and Jilin have complementary resources and development strategies, with cooperation already expanding in data services, new energy vehicle exports, biomedicine, and cultural tourism and wellness.
The two provinces plan to further expand collaboration in advanced manufacturing, modern agriculture, and healthcare. In tourism, they will promote mutual flows, joint market development, and shared branding, while using Hainan's international air routes and visa-free policies to attract more international visitors.

They will also deepen cooperation in seed breeding, technology commercialization, and commercial space. Hainan plans to further improve its business environment through measures including zero tariffs and lower tax rates, while its multifunctional free trade account is expected to facilitate cross-border financial services.
Hainan's Chengmai county also plans to establish an investment promotion liaison office in Jilin to help local businesses explore RCEP and Southeast Asian markets, strengthening a cooperation model linking Jilin manufacturing, Hainan channels, and overseas markets.
