China New E-commerce Conference opens in Jilin

The sixth China New E-commerce Conference opened on Aug 29 in Jilin city, Northeast China's Jilin province, bringing together industry representatives to explore new trends and opportunities.
The China New E-commerce Development Report 2026 was also released at the conference, announcing the second group of high-quality livestreaming channels and introducing an industry initiative.
The main program featured an opening ceremony and four parallel forums focusing on compliance, AI and new e-commerce, digital commerce and agriculture, and cross-border e-commerce.
A dedicated session on Jilin's new e-commerce sector showcased how businesses are using AI to connect production with online sale.
As an important agricultural and industrial base, Jilin has been developing new e-commerce by utilizing its resources, strengthening supporting industries, improving institutional services, and expanding domestic and international sales channels.
The province recorded 66.28 billion yuan ($9.28 billion) in online retail sales in the first half of 2026, up 11 percent year on year. Livestreaming retail sales reached 10.35 billion yuan, up 38.6 percent, while cross-border e-commerce imports and exports totaled 11.04 billion yuan, surging 210.2 percent year on year.
