Changchun is stepping up efforts to develop the token economy and deepen digital economic cooperation across Northeast Asia.

The Northeast Asian Token Economy Promotion Conference was held on Aug 10 at the Changchun China-Korea City Pavilion, Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province, bringing together government officials, financial institutions, telecom operators, and experts and business representatives from China and the Republic of Korea.

The event was organized by China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone Management Committee and focused on cross-border token services, multi-agent applications in smart agriculture, and compliance safeguards achieved through closer coordination between industry and law enforcement. It also showcased innovative applications within the region's growing digital economy.

A key highlight was the launch of trial operations for the Northeast Asian Token Cross-Border Service Center. Jointly established by several organizations including Hainan Data Trading Service Co, the center is based in Changchun and will serve the wider Northeast Asian region. It will provide full-lifecycle services for data elements, covering data collection, aggregation, processing, training, circulation, trading, and cross-border token services.

Experts said the center could help strengthen China-ROK digital economic cooperation and create a new model for smart economic development in Northeast Asia.

The Changbai Mountain Ginseng Smart Agriculture Multi-Agent Token Circulation and Trading Platform has also begun trial operations, using multi-agent tokens to unlock the value of agricultural data and drive the digital transformation of Jilin's specialty agriculture.
