A group of 85 students from HSE University in Russia arrived at Jilin International Studies University on July 20 to begin a month-long Chinese language and cultural immersion program, marking the opening of the 2026 international study camp jointly organized by the two universities.

This year coincides with the launch of the China-Russia Year of Education. The program, now in its third consecutive year, aims to strengthen youth exchanges between the two countries through Chinese language learning, cultural experiences, and people-to-people connections.

In addition to language courses, the students will explore Jilin's natural landscapes and experience Changchun's culture, gaining a deeper understanding of the province and its traditions.

At the opening ceremony, university representatives highlighted its international education achievements and presented the study camp's curriculum, encouraging participants to actively engage in learning and cultural exchange throughout the program.

The students also learned about the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade. Zhang Junshu, dean of the university's Volunteer Service Management School, introduced preparations for the event and the university's volunteer recruitment and training efforts. The visiting students signed a message board to express their excitement and best wishes for the games.
