In a speech titled "Stay True to Yourself Amid Changes, Forge Ahead into the Future with Innovation", Qin shared three reflections on what should remain constant in a changing world.
She said that while technology continues to break down barriers, graduates should maintain a commitment to serving their country and promoting cross-cultural understanding. "Technology can connect the world, but it cannot cultivate the love of home and country", she said.
Qin urged students to uphold a spirit of lifelong learning and independent thinking. While encouraging graduates to make good use of AI tools, she stressed that "AI is a tool. It will not replace you", adding that critical thinking and the pursuit of truth remain essential qualities.
She highlighted the importance of character, perseverance and hard work. "Technology can sharpen your abilities, but it cannot forge the person only you can become", she said, encouraging graduates to cultivate integrity, kindness and resilience throughout their lives.
