The Second Joint Conference of Leading Meat Industry Enterprises (M50) and the Mobilization Meeting for the 2026 Meat Consumption Week were held on June 6 in Changchun, Jilin province.

Hosted by the China Meat Association, the event brought together representatives from government agencies, research institutions, and more than 50 leading meat companies, including major industry players from across China. Participating enterprises collectively generate over 400 billion yuan ($56 billion) in annual output value, accounting for more than 30 percent of the country's large-scale meat industry output.

During the conference, Bao Qingchun, director of the Jilin Animal Husbandry Bureau, presented Jilin's advantages in the livestock industry and investment opportunities. He highlighted targeted support policies, including incentives for the beef cattle industry, specialized support measures for egg production, and innovative financing products such as livestock and barn mortgages. He noted that annual loan interest rates for beef cattle and sika deer projects can be kept below 3.5 percent, with loan terms of up to 10 years.

The conference confirmed that the 2026 meat consumption week will be held in Qingdao this September, featuring exhibitions, livestreaming activities, and business matchmaking events to boost consumption and support industry growth.
