Jilin showcases AI-powered future for transportation
The 2026 Jilin Transportation Science and Technology Innovation Conference and the "AI + Transportation" Innovation Application Achievement Release Event were held on May 28 at Jilin Expressway Group in Changchun.
Bringing together policymakers, industry experts, and business representatives, the conference focused on cutting-edge technologies, including AI and green, low-carbon development.
During the event, representatives from the provinces of Jilin, Liaoning, and Heilongjiang launched an initiative for deeper regional cooperation to advance transportation technology and support the comprehensive vitalization of Northeast China.

Li Zuomin, vice-chairman of the China Communications and Transportation Association, said the association will continue improving technology evaluation and promotion mechanisms, build high-level innovation platforms, and support the sector's technological self-reliance.

Xie Zhongyan, chairman of Jilin Expressway Group, highlighted the company’s innovation-driven development strategy. Its visual AI tolling equipment has been deployed at 217 toll stations, with the group now holding more than 200 patents and 167 software copyrights.
Jia Ning, deputy director of the Department of Transportation of Jilin Province, said Jilin is advancing "AI + Transportation" across transport-tourism integration, infrastructure safety, logistics efficiency, industry governance, rail transit operations, and vehicle-road coordination.
