China Hanfu Week wraps up in Changchun

The grand finale of the 2026 China Hanfu Week · Eastern Charm of Jilin unfolded in Changchun on April 22, presenting a vivid celebration of traditional Chinese aesthetics and youthful creativity.
Set against the cultural backdrop of Northeast China's Jilin province, the hanfu gala was structured into six themed chapters – Oriental Charm, Attire, Ritual and Music, Youth, Landscapes, and Future.

Over two hours, the performance blended ancient Chinese music, classical dance, martial arts and traditional instrumental ensembles, offering a layered interpretation of Chinese ritual and artistic heritage.
The event brought together large-scale hanfu displays, reenactments of traditional etiquette, ethnic dance and opera-inspired martial arts.
Elements unique to Jilin, including ice and snow imagery, pipa melodies and crane-inspired choreography, were woven into the elaborate show.

Young performers, primarily university students, took center stage, infusing the show with vitality and a more contemporary sensibility. Zhao Jingfu, a student dancer from Northeast Normal University, said that wearing hanfu and performing to traditional ritual music on stage delivered a profound connection to the depth and beauty of Eastern aesthetics.
