Jilin University in Northeast China's Jilin province welcomed the opening of its 11th Apricot Flower Cultural Festival on April 19, as spring made its presence felt across the campus. Around 150,000 visitors, including students, residents and travelers, gathered for the celebration.
An exhibition marking the university's 80th anniversary presented 80 iconic moments, tracing its journey alongside that of the nation through a collection of rare photographs. Nearby, the alumni innovation showcase highlighted achievements from over 40 enterprises across fields such as intelligent manufacturing, optoelectronics, AI, new energy and semiconductors.
Student-led creativity took center stage in the technology exhibition area, where projects spanning AI, new materials, healthcare and more invited hands-on interaction. Visitors experienced the vitality of interdisciplinary innovation and the energy of young minds shaping the future.
Adding a fresh highlight, a special zone dedicated to the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade introduced the history, events and preparations of the global competition. Interactive displays and ice-snow-themed activities brought a dynamic winter spirit into the spring setting.
Across the campus, students from 16 universities in Changchun delivered vibrant performances, while a lineup of 33 interactive activities, including AI imaging experiences, offered engaging ways for the public to connect with campus life.
