A student forum on the characteristics and prospects of China-Russia relations in the new era was held at Jilin International Studies University (JISU) on April 9, marking the first event under the China-Russia Years of Education in 2026. Jointly organized by the university and the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Shenyang, the forum aimed to deepen practical cooperation in education, expand people-to-people exchange, and strengthen long-term friendship between the two countries.

At the opening ceremony, Natalia Ryzhkova, consul general of the Russian Federation in Shenyang, Gao Bin from the Education Department of Jilin Province, and Vice President Wang Zhiguo highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration, emphasizing the role of youth engagement in advancing bilateral ties and fostering mutual understanding.

Eight students from Jilin International Studies University and six from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations delivered presentations on education exchange, cultural connectivity, economic development, and industrial cooperation. Interactive Q&A sessions followed each presentation, encouraging open dialogue and deeper insight through the exchange of perspectives.

Outstanding student research was recognized at the closing ceremony, with certificates awarded by the consulate general. The event also reflected JISU's expanding global network, with partnerships established with over 30 international universities, including leading Russian institutions.
