Northeast China's Jilin province announced its 2026 spring cultural tourism program on April 2, highlighting a coordinated effort to integrate museum resources, public cultural services, and travel experiences.
According to the provincial department of culture and tourism, during the Qingming Festival period, museums across the province will host a range of activities focused on remembrance, patriotic education, and traditional customs. These will include themed exhibitions, public lectures, and hands-on experiences designed to connect visitors with both red heritage and intangible cultural traditions.
For International Museum Day and Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, Jilin will host province-wide events to expand cultural access. The main venue for International Museum Day will be the Jilin Provincial Museum and will feature immersive exhibitions and livestreamed programs. More than 70 exhibitions and related activities will be launched across the province. In early June, Tonghua will host the provincial event for Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, showcasing achievements in archaeology, conservation, and intangible cultural heritage.
Two themed heritage routes will also be introduced to further integrate culture and tourism. One traces the revolutionary legacy of General Yang Jingyu, linking key historical sites and memorials across several cities. The other focuses on China's industrial legacy, highlighting Changchun's role as a major center of early industrial development.
