Ahead of the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade, a youth table tennis exchange held on March 21 marked the start of deeper regional sports collaboration across Northeast China. Students from four cities – Changchun, Jilin, Siping and Liaoyuan – came together in a spirited display of skill and sportsmanship.

The event featured four divisions covering primary, junior high, and senior high school levels. A total of 25 teams from 54 schools competed in team matches, with 110 young athletes taking part. On court, players tested their abilities against peers from neighboring cities, demonstrating determination and competitive spirit while engaging in high-level exchanges.

More than just a competition, the event underscored the role of sports as a bridge for regional cooperation. It promoted the sharing of educational resources and opened new pathways for coordinated youth development. Building on this initiative, local education authorities plan to deepen collaboration through regular exchanges in sports and the arts, joint events, and student visits, further expanding an open and dynamic platform for youth engagement across the Changchun metropolitan area.
