From March 17 to 18, a delegation led by Kim Tae-nyeon, head of the ROK-China Parliamentarians' Union, visited Changchun in Jilin province for an in-depth tour. The visit offered a comprehensive look at the region's industrial vitality, cultural heritage, and manufacturing strength.
The delegation's first stop was the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone, where they reviewed progress in advanced equipment manufacturing and health food industries.
Modern factories, intelligent production lines, and collaborative projects highlighted the zone's systematic approach to industrial integration and bilateral cooperation. Kim mentioned it was his first visit to Changchun and expressed a strong interest in deepening collaboration, encouraging more Korean enterprises to explore opportunities in the demonstration zone.

The delegation visited the Former Site Museum of Changchun Film Studio on March 18. As the historic cradle of China's film industry, the site offered insight into the development of Chinese cinema and highlighted cultural ties between China and ROK. Changchun's film legacy, alongside Busan's role as a major hub of the South Korean film industry, suggests growing potential for cultural exchange.
The group later toured the Hongqi manufacturing plant of China FAW Group, where a new energy vehicle rolls off the production line every 54 seconds. Observing the seamless integration of automation and skilled labor, delegation members praised China's advances in high-end manufacturing.
Jilin province and ROK share longstanding ties in people-to-people exchanges, culture, and economic cooperation. Changchun has established sister-city relationships with six ROK cities.
