The Jilin delegation to the fourth session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) held an open group meeting on the morning of March 7, allowing domestic and international media to observe deliberations and interviews.

A total of 93 journalist representatives from 58 media organizations attended the event.

During the meeting, NPC deputies including Hou Yongzhi, Wang Feng, Yang Dayong, Gao Shan, and Cheng Yu delivered remarks while continuing to deliberate on the Government Work Report. The delegation also reviewed the draft outline for the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30), as well as the national plan and budget reports.

In the subsequent media session, Jilin officials outlined priorities for the province's future development. The province plans to accelerate the building of a modern industrial system with distinct local characteristics, strengthening traditional industries while cultivating emerging and future sectors. Hydrogen energy applications will be expanded, and integrated development of education, technology, talent and industry will be promoted to advance breakthroughs in key technologies.

Jilin also aims to promote the development of the Changchun metropolitan area, improve major infrastructure projects and enhance public services. Meanwhile, the province is working to develop a comprehensive ice and snow economy focusing on sports, culture, equipment manufacturing and tourism.

Officials noted that Jilin has made strides in a number of areas in recent years, with rapid growth in the ice and snow economy, breakthroughs in the carbon fiber and optoelectronics industries, and new opportunities emerging in areas such as aerospace information, intelligent economy and the silver economy.
