Jilin experiences Spring Festival tourism surge

Northeast China's Jilin province recorded strong tourism growth during the Spring Festival holiday, with both visitor numbers and travel spending rising sharply compared with the previous year.
The province received 26.9 percent more domestic tourists, while total domestic tourism revenue increased by 24.9 percent. On a daily average basis, visitor numbers and spending grew by 11.1 percent and 10.9 percent, respectively.
Major scenic spots reported impressive results, with Beidahu Ski Resort seeing visitor numbers and revenue climb by 17.9 percent and 12.7 percent year on year.
Online tourism revenue across the province rose 15.6 percent, while visitors from outside Jilin accounted for 83.3 percent of total arrivals, with travelers from the Yangtze River Delta region – especially Zhejiang, Shanghai, and Jiangsu – making up 47.1 percent. Inbound tourist arrivals grew 24 percent, while inbound spending surged 107 percent.

Nighttime tourism also gained momentum, with Chagan Lake staging nightly folk performances, driving a 240 percent increase in visitors and leaving nearby homestays fully booked.
More than 300 cultural and tourism activities were held across the province, and 58 preferential measures, including ticket discounts and consumption vouchers, were introduced, further energizing the festive market.
