The Executive Committee Meeting for the Changchun 2027 33rd Winter Universiade was held on Jan 29 to review progress on event preparations. The meeting was chaired by Leonz Eder, president of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), with Chen Dongsheng, vice president and secretary-general of the China Student Sports Federation, and other officials delivering remarks.

As the flagship event of FISU, the Winter Universiade serves as a global platform for young athletes to showcase their talents, strengthen friendships, and promote cultural exchange. Since Changchun secured hosting rights on Nov 26 last year, preparations have been advancing steadily.

All venue renovation projects are being executed in full compliance with international standards. The solicitation for the event slogan, emblem, and mascot is complete, and work on marketing, media outreach, opening ceremony planning, and volunteer recruitment is progressing as scheduled. Support systems covering information technology, reception services, medical care, and security are also being strengthened.

Changchun will adhere to the principles of green, open, shared, and clean hosting, guided by the principles of simplicity, safety, and excellence.
