News conference interprets Jilin government work report

The Jilin government held a press briefing interpreting the government work report during its provincial two sessions, highlighting steady economic growth and accelerating industrial transformation.
According to the report, Jilin's GDP reached 1.5 trillion yuan ($210 billion), up 5 percent year on year. The added value of industries above a designated size grew 7.8 percent, while industrial investment accounted for 55.7 percent of total investment.
Retail sales expanded faster than the national average, with strong growth recorded in communications equipment, home appliances, and furniture. Tourism also rebounded, with visitor numbers and total spending posting double-digit increases.
Industrial upgrading progressed, with investment in the new energy sector exceeding 130 billion yuan, newly installed capacity surpassing 6 million kilowatts, and several landmark green hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol projects coming online, giving Jilin a leading national capacity. Jilin Chemical Fiber's carbon fiber output and sales also ranked first globally.

Speaking at the two sessions, Song Dewu, a deputy to the Jilin Provincial People's Congress and chairman of Jilin Chemical Fiber Group, said the company's four core businesses – carbon fiber, acrylic fiber, rayon, and bamboo fiber – have all reached leading positions in their respective industries. Carbon fiber, in particular, has achieved stable global leadership after years of rapid growth.
Jilin Chemical Fiber will continue upgrading traditional industries while accelerating the growth of emerging sectors, with carbon fiber remaining a key focus in developing new quality productive forces, supported by stronger innovation and research efforts to consolidate its global leadership.
