Northeast China's Jilin province pressed ahead throughout 2025, pursuing stability while driving progress across industry, innovation, agriculture, reform, and people's well-being.
Industrial output maintained steady growth, with food processing, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and information technology providing a diversified base of support.
Consumption gained traction as the trade-in program generated 28.56 billion yuan ($4 billion), while the opening of the Shenyang–Baihe section of the Shenyang–Jiamusi High-Speed Railway and the tourism corridor along the G331 National Highway injected fresh vitality into culture and tourism, further spotlighting the ice-and-snow economy.
Investment quality continued to improve, with industrial investment accounting for 55 percent and private investment 35.5 percent, reinforcing market confidence.
Industrial transformation gathered pace with clear highlights in green and smart manufacturing. Jilin Chemical Fiber Group became the world's largest carbon fiber producer, and local firms captured leading market shares in wind turbine blade beams and drone structures. Meihua Holdings Group in Baicheng also became the world's largest lysine production base.
Three cities in Jilin were selected as national zero-carbon industrial parks, and China's first hydrogen-powered tourism train began service. Emerging sectors, including the low-altitude economy and AI-accelerated deployment, are marking a faster shift from old to new growth drivers.
Innovation capacity strengthened through the establishment or restructuring of 11 national key laboratories and the achievement of 459 core technological breakthroughs.
Agricultural production delivered another strong harvest, with grain output reaching 43.58 billion kilograms and farmers' incomes steadily increasing. Employment remained stable, social security improved, urban renewal advanced, and environmental and transport indicators continued to rank among the best nationwide.
