Winter came alive in Liaoyuan as the city launched its fifth ice and snow season on Dec 28, alongside the opening of the Huandongshan cultural and tourism complex.

Inspired by the Three Kingdoms (220-280) period, the event transforms history into an ice-and-snow fantasy walk. Towering snow sculptures recreate iconic architecture, while a dramatic Battle of Chibi scene anchors the experience with scale and storytelling, merging history and winter art and inviting visitors to explore, photograph, and feel the spirit of classic legends in a fresh setting.
Beyond the themed installations, venues such as the Super ONE Basketball Park and the Liaoyuan Zoo and Botanical Garden have expanded the experience through ice, light, and interactive tours.
Sparkling ice carvings, glowing light corridors, lively snow playgrounds, and bustling winter markets blend local character with modern flair. From family outings to friends chasing winter fun, Liaoyuan's ice season offers a reason to stay, play, and come back for more.
