The upgraded Shitou Koumen Service Area on the Hunchun–Ulanhot Expressway officially reopened to the public on Nov 19, marking a major step forward in transforming traditional service areas into multifunctional extensions of nearby scenic destinations.
Located between Changchun Longjia International Airport and major ski resorts, the service area has become a prime transfer hub for winter sports visitors. From this spot, travelers can easily continue their journey to multiple ski destinations across Changchun.
The redesigned service area aims to integrate transportation, culture, and tourism through differentiated functional zones. Centered on family-friendliness, experiences, and leisure, it targets two key groups – urban families seeking short getaways and winter travelers looking for a place to rest during transit.

The space now offers a blend of play, relaxation, and shopping, creating an immersive stopover experience. A combined cafe and mini-cinema offers quality beverages alongside a cozy space for families to watch films.
A highlight of the upgrade is the new Jitu Study Room, an innovative cultural space that integrates literary and tourism experiences into the service environment.
