At the latest 2025-2026 winter season news conference held in Northeast China's Jilin province, officials announced that Jilin city – known as the "city of rime and skiers' paradise" – will launch its new ski season on Nov 22, together with the 31st International Rime Ice and Snow Festival.
With the addition of the new Paotai and Beishan mountain ski resorts, the city now offers 157 ski trails covering 570 hectares, forming the city's most comprehensive trail system to date. Beida Lake Ski Resort has crafted four "super trails", while Songhua Lake Ski Resort has added 150,000 square meters of courses, shaping a complete system for beginners, enthusiasts, and elite athletes alike.

Beyond skiing, 27 new cultural and tourism products, four themed ice-snow streets, three museum venues, and immersive activities such as low-altitude flights and UTV snow rides promise a season filled with discovery far beyond the slopes.
Major events will drive momentum, with 20 "super weekends" and more than 200 cultural-tourism activations, including international, national, and provincial competitions. Red-themed immersive performances, winter sports carnivals, and extended museum hours will fill the city with energy from early winter to spring thaw.

Travel is becoming easier than ever, with the city terminal now operating, airport-to-resort shuttles running more frequently, and 180 ride-hailing vehicles equipped with ski racks. Special services such as sunrise shuttle routes, free holiday bus rides, free parking, and discounted tickets significantly lower the cost of a winter getaway.
Honored as one of China's top 10 winter tourism cities for 10 consecutive years, Jilin city is shaping a new model of micro-vacation: arrive on Friday, glide freely across the slopes on the weekend, return to work by Monday.
