The inaugural conference of the Northern Six Provinces and Regions Collaborative Innovation Center for Winter Sports Safety was held at the Third Bethune Hospital of Jilin University on Oct 15.
Representatives from 105 institutions across Jilin, Heilongjiang, Liaoning, Hebei, Xinjiang, and Inner Mongolia gathered to witness a milestone for China's ice and snow sports safety.
Xu Xiaohong, director of the Health Commission of Jilin Province, Sun Guangzhi, director of the Jilin Province Department of Culture and Tourism, along with representatives from Jilin University, Xinjiang Medical University, and other participating institutions, attended the conference.
With over 100 partners from six provinces and regions, the center aims to promote data sharing, resource integration, and joint standard-setting. It will provide comprehensive safety support for nearly 60 percent of the country's ski resorts and 77 percent of national-level ski resorts.
As the only national emergency medical rescue base in Jilin province, the Third Bethune Hospital has strong expertise in sports safety, rehabilitation, and emergency medical services.
