Holiday travel surge highlights Jilin's appeal

Northeast China's Jilin province received 13.36 million domestic tourists from Oct 1 to 3, a 16 percent increase year on year, generating 9.2 billion yuan ($1.28 billion) in total tourism revenue, up 10.3 percent. Overnight visitors reached 4.07 million, accounting for 30.46 percent of the total and increasing 13.6 percent year-over-year.

Changbai Mountain saw a 22.2 percent increase in visitors, while Yanji's China Korean Folk Custom Park welcomed over 90,000 tourists. Tumen Port and Fangchuan Scenic Spot reported visitor growth of 3.3 percent and 8 percent, respectively. In Ji'an, the Yalu River National Gate Scenic Area recorded a 13.4 percent rise in visits, with the local morning market becoming a consumer hotspot – Oct 3 alone saw 78,000 visitors and sales of 1.91 million yuan.

Changchun's aviation carnival attracted around 188,000 tourists, an 18.7 percent rise, while Xinmin Avenue Historical and Cultural Block welcomed 1.06 million visitors.

Across the province, 26 museums extended their opening hours, hosting 72 special exhibitions and 120 themed activities, highlighting Jilin's rich cultural vitality during the National Day Golden Week.
