Jilin University hosted an immersive Mid-Autumn Festival experience for its international students on Sept 28.

The event, organized by the School of International Chinese Language Education and the International Exchange Service Center at Jilin University, aimed to highlight the cultural significance of the festival through storytelling, traditional practices, and hands-on activities.

Vice Dean Cui Xianhua extended festive greetings, while Professor Lyu Haichen explained the holiday's customs and legends, from the tale of Chang'e to the spirit of reunion.

A pastry chef demonstrated the process of making mooncakes, guiding students through the steps of kneading, filling, and molding. With tea in hand and freshly made mooncakes on the table, the students embraced both the flavors and traditions of Chinese culture.
