Ji'an hosts China World Heritage Tourism Promotion Alliance Conference

Ji'an, Northeast China's Jilin province, held the 2025 China World Heritage Tourism Promotion Alliance (Ji'an) Conference and Gaogouli World Cultural Heritage Protection and Exchange from Sept 24 to 25.
More than 200 experts, scholars, and representatives from across the cultural heritage field gathered to discuss the protection, transmission, and innovative development of the Gaogouli world cultural heritage.
At the opening ceremony, Gao Shan, mayor of Tonghua city, delivered remarks alongside Xu Zhentao, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and Sun Guangzhi, director of the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
The conference also launched the 2025 Cross-regional Routes for World Heritage Tourism in China and welcomed new members to the Alliance.

Meng Man, a professor at Minzu University of China, gave a keynote speech, highlighting the unique global value of Gaogouli heritage, particularly in mural art, urban development, and tomb preservation. Experts from Beijing Union University and other institutions also engaged in an in-depth dialogue on protection technologies.

Delegates visited Ji'an Museum, Wandu Mountain City, and Ji'an's national-level night-time tourism consumption hub, experiencing the cultural depth and living vitality of Gaogouli heritage.
This was the first time the conference was hosted in Northeast China, underscoring Ji'an's role as a key guardian and promoter of China's diverse civilizations.
