FAW-Volkswagen held a ceremony at its Changchun production base to mark the rollout of its first batch of export vehicles on Sept 23. A total of 554 Magotan and Sagitar cars will depart from Shanghai Port on Sept 28 and enter the Middle East in November.
This milestone represents FAW-Volkswagen's leap in its overseas business, a historic breakthrough for China's auto industry and a significant step for joint-venture brands entering international markets. It also signals a new stage in China's automotive opening-up and cooperation, setting a replicable model for joint ventures going global.
As the only State-owned joint-venture automaker in China, FAW-Volkswagen's move demonstrates its commitment to the Belt and Road Initiative. With rapid execution from negotiation to delivery, the company has set a new benchmark in export speed.
Its tailored adaptations for overseas climates, road conditions, and regulations, alongside a full-scale support system covering technology, production, logistics, and after-sales, highlight the growing sophistication of China's global auto operations.
