The 2025 Changchun-South Korea Week opened on Sept 20 in the China-ROK (Changchun) International Cooperation Demonstration Zone in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province, highlighting cultural exchanges and economic cooperation between China and South Korea while offering citizens a taste of Korean culture.

More than 600 representatives, including officials from the ROK Consulate-General in Shenyang, the Changchun municipal people's government, businesses, associations, and international students, attended the opening ceremony.

Liu Naijun, secretary of the zone's Party work committee, noted that Changchun-South Korea Week is a vital platform for bilateral exchange and pledged to strengthen the zone's role as a bridge for cooperation. A representative of the ROK Consulate-General in Shenyang praised the zone's efforts and expressed hope for deeper and more practical collaboration between South Korea and Jilin.

This year's Changchun-South Korea Week saw an upgraded program. Ulsan art troupes presented performances blending tradition and modernity, while professional models showcased Korean hanbok. Interactive cultural activities such as hanbok try-ons, coffee making, and traditional games proved popular among young visitors.

Meanwhile, a bustling Sino-South Korean marketplace brought together South Korean-invested companies in Changchun and vendors offering specialty goods and food, drawing large crowds.

On the cooperation front, the zone has organized five delegations to South Korea this year, signing multiple agreements. Events such as the South Korea Business Day, South Korea Week, and taekwondo tournaments now form an annual brand matrix. Partnerships in education, medical aesthetics, and culture have also deepened.
