The 2025 Air Force Open-Day Event and the Changchun Air Show opened on Sept 19 in Changchun International Aviation Expo City in Northeast China's Jilin province. The event features air displays, static ground exhibitions, themed pavilions, and various supporting activities, showcasing over one hundred types of active aircraft, ground equipment, and classic retired models.
Highlights include the first static display of the J-20 fighter jet and the first bomber formation flyover. The August 1st Air Demonstration Team delivered a spectacular performance, while the YY-20A tanker and J-16 fighters demonstrated aerial refueling and strike capabilities.
The H-6 bomber stunned spectators with a low-altitude pass, and the J-16 executed vertical air combat maneuvers. The YY-20A also completed challenging large-angle spirals, while the J-20 diamond formation performed tactical crossovers, underscoring its combat readiness.
Beyond the skies, the event offers immersive experiences such as flight simulators and drone controls. Interactive zones, including recruitment information and air traffic control science exhibits, further enhance national defense education.
