Northeast China's Jilin province held a ceremony on Sept 14 to welcome back the battle flag of the Yang Jingyu Detachment, paying the highest tribute to a heroic banner that embodies the spirit of victory and sacrifice.

The flag, symbolizing the indomitable struggle of the Northeast United Resistance Army under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, returned to its birthplace in Jilin after being highlighted at the Sept 3 military parade.

At 8:30 am, the flight carrying the battle flag landed at Changchun Longjia International Airport, where soldiers of the Yang Jingyu Detachment were waiting to escort it to the site. Accompanied by police escorts and a motorcade, the flag traveled through the main streets of Changchun.

Residents lined the roads to welcome the flag home, while historical landmarks and flourishing cityscapes bore witness to the continuity of history and progress.

In the compound of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, 45 honor guards stood in formation as officials, soldiers, police officers, and student representatives awaited the arrival of the flag.

Delegates from the Yang Jingyu family, the Jilin Yangjingyu Executive Leadership Academy, the Yang Jingyu Martyrs Cemetery, and the memorial site of his sacrifice, together with students at all levels, saluted and posed with the flag to honor the revolutionary legacy.

The ceremony reflected the province's deep respect for the heroes of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, ensuring that the red spirit of the Northeast United Resistance Army continues to inspire future generations.
