2025 Changchun Air Show prepares for grand opening
|A Jilin provincial news conference on Sep 5 announced that the 2025 Air Force Open-Day Event and the 2025 Changchun Air Show will be held from Sep 19 to 23 at the Changchun International Aviation Expo City. This will be the fourth edition since 2019, as well as the largest and most comprehensive to date.
The exhibition area covers 2.36 million square meters – the size of 330 football fields –with three main zones for flight demonstration, static exhibition, and support, and six themed indoor pavilions, including the Air Force Pavilion, Unmanned Intelligent Equipment Pavilion, and Low-Altitude Economy Pavilion, plus an outdoor showcase.
This year, 209 exhibitors will participate, up 69 from the last edition and including leading State-owned enterprises such as AVIC, AECC, and Changguang Satellite, alongside key private enterprises. The show will highlight cutting-edge equipment, industry ecosystems, and aviation culture under four major themes.
According to the spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense, the PLA Air Force will present more than 100 aircraft and ground systems, with the first static display of the J-20 stealth fighter and a bomber formation flyover. The cultural program includes pilot recruitment and training displays, UAV conferences, air force band performances, and pilot interactions with the public.
Organizers have also enhanced transport, security, and visitor services to ensure a smooth experience, while linking the show with Changchun's cultural and tourism offerings. Over 50 aviation-themed events, from flash mobs and street concerts on Xinmin Avenue to festivals at Jingyuetan, will immerse the city in an aviation extravaganza.
