The Shenyang-Changbaishan section of the Shenyang-Jiamusi high-speed railway began simulated passenger trial operations on Sept 4, ahead of its full opening. This trial involves running trains strictly according to official operating standards, testing scheduling, passenger services, maintenance, and emergency response systems.
Stretching 430 kilometers from Shenyang North Station to Changbaishan Station, the railway runs through five cities including Fushun, Tonghua, and Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture. Designed for speeds of up to 350 km per hour, the line features 85 tunnels and 175 bridges, with 10 stations in total.
Construction began in July 2021, and tracklaying was completed in May 2025. Since June, over 5,000 test train runs have been conducted to optimize all systems. The line will shorten travel time between Beijing Chaoyang Station and Changbaishan Station to 4 hours 33 minutes, and between Shenyang North and Changbaishan Station to 1 hour 53 minutes.
As a flagship project under China's 14th Five-Year Plan, the Shenyang-Baishan high-speed railway is set to boost regional connectivity and increase tourism.
