The four-day 2025 National Sunshine Sports Games for Youth concluded on Aug 4 in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province.

The event, organized by the General Administration of Sport of China, the Ministry of Education, the National Health Commission, and the Jilin Provincial People's Government, brought together 2,040 athletes and coaches from 34 delegations, including those from across China and the national youth palace system.

The games featured nine events – track and field, rope skipping, martial arts, football, basketball, volleyball, roller skating, modern pentathlon, and cheerleading – blending competition, performance, education, and hands-on experience.

Guided by the principle of "health first", this annual celebration of youth sports was more than a tournament; it was a platform to ignite passion for physical activity, build resilience, and promote lifelong wellness among China's younger generations.

Zhang Jiasheng, deputy director of the General Administration of Sport, noted that the Games were poised to inspire more youth to understand, embrace, and fall in love with sports.
