Naitoushan village: From remote countryside to internet-famous destination
|A 10-kilometer rural road has transformed Naitoushan village in Antu county, Northeast China's Jilin province, into a thriving tourist destination.
Branching off from the G331 National Highway and winding through the picturesque Guangming Forest Farm, the road leads to what was once a quiet village, now named a 2025 National Beautiful Highway Project for its breathtaking scenery and rich cultural charm.

Renovated in 2017, the route features well-designed infrastructure, including signage, guardrails, and passing bays, and blends seamlessly into the natural landscape. Towering trees, birdsong, and the scent of earth and wildflowers make for an immersive journey through all four seasons.
At the end of the road is Naitoushan village, which offers a unique blend of history and culture. Visitors can experience Korean ethnic traditions by making kimchi and rice cakes, dressing in traditional attire, or exploring the forest to harvest ginseng and craft with natural materials.
Since 2019, the village has welcomed over 2 million visitors. During the 2024 May Day holiday, it hosted an average of 1,800 educational tour participants per day and generated over 1.4 million yuan ($195,399) in tourism revenue.
This once-remote road now serves as a vital link, connecting rural life with cultural tourism and powering regional development.
