Xinmin Avenue Historical and Cultural Block in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province, will reopen to the public on July 5. Stretching 1,445 meters, it is the first and only street in the city to be named a "Chinese Historic and Cultural Street".

Leading the celebration is the debut of the Changchun Historical and Cultural Museum, built on the site of the former Changchun Daily office, which has become a new city landmark.

Wang Hao, director of the Academic Research Department at the Museum of the Imperial Palace of the Manchu State, emphasized that the museum aims to present more than isolated moments of history – it tells the full urban narrative of Changchun from its founding to the present day.

The museum will feature five permanent exhibitions and a special showcase titled "Dialogue Among Ancient Capitals", which links the historical threads of seven historically significant cities, including Beijing, Changchun, Kaifeng, and Luoyang, offering a broader historical lens through which to view the story of Changchun.

The renowned Aranya Theater Festival will also make its Northeast China premiere, fusing global performance art with local culture in a bold, artistic collision.

Also on the program are vintage-style parades, themed floats, and interactive street performances inviting citizen participation.
