On the morning of Jun 22, a group of Indonesian students visited the West Beijing Street Historical and Cultural Block in Changchun, Northeast China's Jilin province. The visit was part of the 2025 "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students – Indonesia Division cultural immersion program.
As they walked through the century-old buildings and winding lanes, they explored art galleries, bookstores, and historic landmarks – experiencing firsthand the deep cultural roots and unique charm of traditional Chinese architecture.
In the courtyard, the clang of gongs announced a mesmerizing performance of daomadan – a fierce female warrior role in Peking Opera. The students watched in awe as silk sleeves sliced through the air and tradition echoed through each movement.
Under the patient guidance of seasoned performers, they stepped into the tale themselves. Girls floated in flowing hanfu; boys straightened proudly in horse-face skirts, each snapshot capturing a quiet collision of worlds.
