The closing news conference of the 2025 Changchun International Optoelectronic Expo on June 13 marked the end of this highly successful three-day event. A total of 78 projects were signed, with an investment value of 22.93 billion yuan ($3.19 billion), injecting strong momentum into the transformation and upgrading of Changchun's optoelectronic industry.
This year's expo expanded to 86,000 square meters, up 16,000 from last year, and welcomed 850 exhibitors, including 186 leading enterprises – both record highs. Among them were 14 Global Fortune 500 companies, 20 China Top 500 firms, and 51 listed enterprises. The number of conferences and forums increased to 55, providing deeper industry insights and fostering collaboration.
For the first time, the expo was held in conjunction with the Light Conference, attracting over 800 experts and scholars from 26 countries. This collaboration broke traditional boundaries between academia and industry, fostering a dynamic exchange that linked research with industrial applications.
The release of the 2025 Changchun Optoelectronic Information Industry White Paper set clear goals for the city to exceed 100 billion yuan in total industrial output by year-end.
As part of the expo, the talent recruitment zone featured 200 leading companies with over 6,000 job openings, attracting 12,600 on-site job seekers. More than 2,500 initial employment agreements were reached, reflecting a 9 percent year-on-year growth.
