This autumn, 123,575 students sat for the college entrance examination, or Gaokao, across Northeast China's Jilin province. With 59 test regions, 168 test centers, and 4,651 exam rooms, Jilin has implemented a tightly coordinated operation to ensure fairness and security.
Strict cross-region invigilation policies have been enforced, and a checklist-based examination organization mechanism has been introduced, covering 12 key stages, including test paper logistics, security checks, and entry procedures.
For the first time, province-wide facial recognition and AI-powered cheating detection have been fully deployed. Enhanced measures – such as smart security gates, 5G signal jamming, and strict phone bans – target the prevention of high-tech cheating tools.
To support candidates, multiple government departments have launched a joint campaign, offering services in public safety, transportation, lodging, and meals for Gaokao sitters. On-site psychological counselors have also been stationed at exam centers to ease student anxiety.
Once the exams conclude, the province will immediately begin online grading. Results and minimum admission thresholds are expected to be released by June 25.
Jilin's official mobile government service app, Jishiban, has launched a bundled set of high school exam tools. With just a few taps, users can access exam center locations, results, admission notices, and more.
