Holiday tourism and spending boom across Jilin

During the recent Dragon Boat Festival and Children's Day holiday, Jilin province experienced significant growth in both the number of tourists and tourist consumption. Domestic tourist arrivals and total spending increased by 16.9 percent and 16.1 percent year-on-year, respectively. More than 40 percent of high-grade scenic spots reported substantial increases in visitor numbers and tourism revenue.

Data from travel platform Meituan shows that daily average tourist reception rose by 74.2 percent, while cultural tourism spending increased by 58.8 percent. Dining consumption grew 42.7 percent, accommodation spending 109.6 percent, scenic area spending 56.6 percent, and entertainment-related spending 49.1 percent.

Among key destinations, Zhuque Mountain Forest Park saw a 110-percent increase in visitors during its camping activities. Changchun Zoological and Botanical Park recorded a 117 percent rise in tourists, while Chagan Lake Scenic Area's revenue rose by 608.8 percent. The Changbai Mountain and Jingyuetan scenic areas also reported notable gains.

Major cities such as Changchun, Jilin, and Baicheng hosted annual dragon boat races. Across the province, 23 museums extended their opening hours and organized 117 onsite cultural activities, with attendance up 12 percent.
