A delegation representing Northeast China's Jilin province visited Macao from May 19 to 21 to deepen regional cooperation and explore new opportunities.

The delegation emphasized the strong potential and bright future of Jilin-Macao cooperation, expressing willingness to work with Macao in making the most of the Belt and Road Initiative, developing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and energizing Northeast China.

The two sides aim to boost exchanges in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), rail transit, technological innovation, and cultural tourism.

The Macao side noted growing interactions and economic ties with Jilin, highlighting the shared focus on the TCM and health industries. They expressed hopes for deepened collaboration to enhance development in both regions.

Macao's strength in "tourism+" integration and Jilin's rich ecological and tourism resources were seen as complementary. Both sides also plan to expand cooperation in science, culture, and education.

Jilin officials hoped the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region would help build more communication channels to strengthen trade, finance, and winter tourism cooperation, particularly in the development of ginseng and deer antler products.

The delegation also visited the Macao University of Science and Technology to promote university-enterprise collaboration on TCM research and industrial applications.
