From April 24 to 25, reporters explored how Tonghua county in Northeast China's Jilin province is turning rich ecological resources into new growth engines.
At the Songhua Stone Industrial Park in Da'an town, visitors marveled at over 500 exquisite Songhua inkstones and creative products. Revered since the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), Songhua stone is now brought to life by skilled artisans blending natural textures with modern creativity.
"By developing products featuring popular IPs like Ne Zha and nurturing new talent, we are giving ancient craftsmanship new vitality," said Zhang Xin, head of the park.
Tonghua Xinhong New Materials Co is planning a stone tourism project, combining geological heritage with cultural innovation.
In picturesque Hushang village, Shanghushang homestays are now a sought-after getaway. With gourmet local foods and customized experiences, bookings are already full for the May Day holiday.
