On April 18, an international forum themed on the locality and globality of culture of Northeast China was held by Jilin University in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province.
The event gathered leading cultural scholars, art experts, communication researchers, and Gen-Z participants from 16 countries, including the United States, Russia, France, and South Korea.
Focusing on Northeast China's industrial, artistic, ecological, and historical cultures, Jilin University is carrying out important international communication projects. The university aims to establish an integrated academia–communication–industry network for the global promotion of Northeast culture. These efforts are designed to expand cultural exchange under the Belt and Road Initiative and spark creative energy among global youth.
At the forum's opening ceremony, the Jilin Province Universities International Communication Alliance was launched. Member institutions jointly advocated for enhanced international communication with cultural confidence and a global outlook, striving to share the stories of Chinese universities with the world.
The forum fostered vibrant dialogue across cultures, highlighting the local roots and global resonance of Northeast culture. Two cultural exhibitions – a fine arts showcase and a photography display themed on Northeast China – were also held alongside themed tea breaks, offering immersive experiences to all attendees.
