Changchun Automobile Economic and Technological Development Zone in Northeast China's Jilin province plans to launch 120 major projects this year, each with an investment of over 50 million yuan ($6.69 million), totaling 101.33 billion yuan. Of these, 24 are new projects worth 17.86 billion yuan, while 96 are ongoing projects totaling 83.47 billion yuan.

The zone aims to invest 19.82 billion yuan, up 7 percent. In the first quarter of this year alone, investments have reached 1.97 billion yuan, marking a 51.7 percent increase.

Audi FAW NEV Co, located in the zone, praised its well-developed infrastructure and excellent business environment. Yang Shengnan from general office highlighted local government support in project facilitation, such as streamlined approval procedures, modern accommodations for foreign experts, and the development of a nearby supplier park.

Another highlight is the partnership between China FAW and BYD, which established FAW-FinDreams NEV Co, the first new energy vehicle (NEV) battery production base in Northeast China. The company uses BYD's cutting-edge blade battery technology and high-integration module-free design to solve key safety, range, and lifespan-related industry issues. These batteries are now in mass production and power the new all-electric Hongqi models.

The company currently operates two production lines; the PA75 production line has delivered over 700 battery packs to Hongqi, and the Audi Premium Platform Electric (PPE) project line has entered its prototype phase.
