On April 2, CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co, based in Northeast China's Jilin province, rolled out its next-generation 200-kilometer-per-hour intelligent intercity electric multiple unit (EMU) train, marking a milestone in China's high-speed rail innovation.

This train is the first in the country to integrate digital intelligence into intercity transportation. It will soon operate between Zhengzhou and Kaifeng and Zhengzhou and Xinzheng International Airport.

The train features a four-car configuration designed for quick acceleration and deceleration. Equipped with Ethernet and 5G networks, it ensures full onboard Wi-Fi coverage and intelligent passenger information systems.

A standout feature is its smart window technology, which can dynamically display travel updates and cultural content based on real-time scenarios.

Over 1,500 sensors power a comprehensive monitoring system across 127 critical subsystems. The train offers full lifecycle health management with big data analytics and cloud computing. Its lightweight body, energy-efficient air conditioning, and regenerative braking system contribute to over 15 percent of energy savings compared to traditional models, with more than 75 percent of materials being recyclable.

The EMU will significantly enhance the efficiency of the Zhengzhou-Kaifeng intercity network, reducing travel time between the two stations to just 25 minutes.
