On Feb 26, China FAW, based in Northeast China's Jilin province, launched the Hongqi Tiangong 05, a new medium-sized pure electric sedan.

This vehicle features the industry-first mass-produced inertial navigation three-dimensional vision system, enabling urban and highway “Navigation on Autopilot”, or NOA, and full-scene parking without relying on high-definition maps or lidar.

Tiangong 05 offers four models, priced between 159,800 yuan ($22,000) and 185,800 yuan. Its cabin features an AI-powered deep-learning engine for smooth, human-like voice interactions. The system can memorize seat positions and temperature preferences and even support dialects like Sichuanese and Cantonese. It can also curate personalized music playlists based on the driver's mood.

Equipped with a self-developed electric drive system, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5.4 seconds while maintaining a low energy consumption of just 12.1 kilowatt-hours per 100 km, ensuring performance and energy savings. With a maximum range of up to 850 km, the Tiangong 05 effectively eliminates range anxiety. For long-distance travel, the car's battery can be charged to 500 km in just 10 minutes.

The air conditioning dynamically adjusts via AI, and the entire cabin features soft-touch surfaces. The 1.89-square-meter panoramic sunroof provides an expansive view and high UV protection.

Tiangong 05 is available in six stylish colors – black, white, gray, green, blue, and red – and offers customizable interior and exterior options.
