Hongqi Tiangong 08 launches as premium electric SUV

The Hongqi Tiangong 08, a luxury mid-to-large all-electric SUV, was launched on Jan 7 at an event held at the FAW R&D Innovation Base in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province. It promises cutting-edge technology and exceptional performance, setting new standards for high-quality travel.

Building on Hongqi's 2024 milestone of surpassing 400,000 units sold, the Tiangong 08 introduces five models with two-wheel and four-wheel drive options. Priced between 239,800 yuan ($32,707) and 339,800 yuan, the SUV offers eight "New Year Gifts", including financial incentives, lifetime warranties, advanced driving features, and exclusive benefits like complimentary charging stations.

The Tiangong 08 is built on the Tiangong Electric and Jiuzhang Intelligent platforms. Its 111kWh battery, with a range of up to 730 km, delivers high performance even in extreme conditions. Advanced technologies such as adaptive air suspension and rear-wheel steering enhance its agility and comfort.

Joyce Jonathan, the first overseas owner, praised the SUV's aesthetics and acoustics, while local enthusiasts highlighted its spacious interior and outdoor-friendly features. Industry experts commended the vehicle's safety and performance trials, reinforcing Hongqi’s commitment to innovation and quality. The Tiangong 08 exemplifies Hongqi's vision for the future of electric mobility.
