On Nov 22, Jilin Animation Institute hosted the Vision Mergence Film and Television Special Effects Innovation Symposium and the award-winning SIGGRAPH 2024 Animation Festival Screening. As a key event of SIGGRAPH, the animation festival showcases cutting-edge advancements in computer graphics and interactive technologies.

The symposium attracted global industry leaders and featured keynote speeches, roundtable discussions, and award-winning animation screenings. Speakers included Anthony Wang from Pixar Animation Studios and experts from SAME SAME CREATIVE, DNEG, and Illinois National Center for Supercomputing Applications. Jilin Animation Institute Vice Chair Liu Xin emphasized the school's dedication to blending art and technology to cultivate interdisciplinary talent through initiatives like virtual reality and film technology programs.

The event premiered excerpts from the award-winning works of SIGGRAPH 2024, which will officially screen on Nov 23. These 18 productions, which range from short films to cinematic-quality game animations, showcase technological, creative, and storytelling excellence.
