On Nov 20, Jilin University held a seminar on creating the "China Ice and Snow" textbook series. The university is leading this project in collaboration with over 20 universities, including Renmin University of China and Xiamen University. The textbooks are expected to be completed by the end of this year and published by March 2025.
The series will comprise seven volumes, including an Introduction to China's Ice and Snow Economy, China's Ice and Snow Tourism, and China's Ice and Snow Equipment. These works are part of Jilin University's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) and are based on research from the university's "China Ice and Snow Index" studies.
Professor Xin Benlu, the chief editor and head of the university's Ice and Snow Key Laboratory, explained that the textbooks aim to establish a comprehensive theoretical framework for China's ice and snow economy. They provide insights into industry structures and trends, addressing the growing need for talent and innovation.
After the first seven volumes are published, additional consumer behavior and snow resort management textbooks are planned for development starting in 2025.
This series aims to foster the high-quality development of China's ice and snow economy and serve as a cornerstone for cultivating specialized talent.
