Jilin athletes win 15 golds at Jump Rope China Open

The 2024 Jump Rope China Open, held from Oct 23 to 28 in Huaibei, concluded with Jilin's jump rope team winning an impressive 15 gold, nine silver, and three bronze medals.

This year's event, organized by the General Administration of Sport of China and supported by the International Jump Rope Union, attracted 296 athletes from 11 countries and regions, including Australia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hong Kong, and Japan.

A team of 15 athletes representing Northeast China's Jilin province showcased outstanding skill and perseverance, earning both medals and the Sportsmanship Award. Among the highlights was 9-year-old Yu Canyi, who made history as the youngest Grand Slam winner in jump rope, securing championship titles across national, Asian, and world stages.

In the Masters category, 9-year-old Zhao Yitong emerged as the champion of the 9-11 age group, while 11-year-old Hu Ailin claimed the girls' freestyle title, realizing her dream of world champion status. Guinness World Record holder Ma Jiajun continued his dominance, winning the men's triple under event with 437 jumps. In the women's category, Wang Yuxin led the triple under event with 228 jumps, achieving a rare victory in a challenging discipline for China.
